At the end of the year... by jerome

At the end of the year...

...I wish you all the best with all my heart.

In the big cities, the turn of the year is celebrated with glaring light and loudly. Fireworks and firecrackers belong to New Year's Eve. That's the way it may be.
When I took this picture, it was quiet in the Wahiba Sands and the light of the desert still young. Maybe you can notice a hint of Yin and Yang in this dune arc. It stands for the forces of life that are opposed to each other but can only be understood in unity - light and dark, hard and soft, cold and warm, movement and calm,... The ancient Greeks had a very similar idea as the Chinese philosophers. Heraclitus said, "It is changing and resting." As an example, he mentioned the river, which can only subsist by continual adding new water. The contrasts merge in a larger unit - the idea of dialectics.

I wish you a Happy New Year with a succeding balance of flow and calm, giving and taking, thinking and feeling.
Beautiful capture, beautiful sentiment. All the best to you in the yearJerome.

Your presence here is always so positive and calming, words and photos! I recall you once considered stepping away, but we're the better for it that you're back in our midst. May the New Year continue to treat you well, and keep you as centered as you are here today. ...and if you'll forgive me, in the midst of contemplative thinking, if I'll confess to also thinking of ruffled potato chips ; ) (No fireworks, but a good chuckle is fine by me!)
