@Jerome 50! I must be more diligent. I have a question to ask not about birds but about flower. I know you are dedicated to not harming plants when you photograph. But I have had peonies that have suddenly popped up in my backyard and they are big and heavy, and many grow taller than the supportive baskets that are supposed to hold them up. Would you let the flowers bend down, would you clip them and bring them inside, or ??? Currently the longest ones are bending about 50 cm. (next year I will buy bigger and taller frames for the peonies)
@jyokota Dear Junko, I have to express myself more precisely: I usually activate the series function for such moments. I keep the shutter button pressed and the camera takes pictures (a few images per second) until I release the shutter button or the buffer memory is full. This is very helpful for motifs in motion.
To photograph plants:
I try not to damage plants for a photo. But every now and then I make a little bouquet for the living room - sometimes I take a picture of it.
It's wonderful that you have such great peonies. They must really enjoy your garden when they get so tall. I like it when flowers settle on their own. I would hold them up with a plant support. They could kink - in strong wind or rain. I don't know how big your support elements are. On this page I see different sizes - up to 100cm: https://www.amazon.de/s?k=plant+support&ref=nb_sb_noss_2. You could also get a stronger wire and bend such supports yourself.
Anyway, I wish you a lot of joy with your flowers!
@redy4et Interior designer - a very interesting profession. Thanks for the quick reply!
Good evening to Southern California. Wonderful places must be there.
Dear Jerome,
I have never taken advantage of that "burst"feature much -- I stop to focus each one, slowing down the process. It's now a habit, so I must try this more. Who knows what I have been missing? (A chicken flipping water!)
As for the peonies, they are in a basket like this one on that page you linked to above: https://www.amazon.de/Silverline-921382-Staudenhalter-DREI-Ringen/dp/B074G2ZYRD/ref=sr_1_7?dchild=1&keywords=plant+support&qid=1591509359&sr=8-7
But the peonies double over the top and hang down once they reach higher than the top of the basket. I think next year I must buy some even taller basket supports.
Yes, I am enjoying the flowers in my garden, especially this year. Staying home all day long for 87 days so far, and I anticipate for the next year, my backyard has become a source of entertainment. IN fact, my entire project these days is of backyard happenings!
Thank you for the feedback,
Junko
@jyokota Dear Junko,
I'm really looking forward to photos of your peonies and your backyard events! Certainly there are sensations there too, the motif does not have to be particularly exotic. Of course I am looking forward to going on a trip again. But ultimately it is not just what that counts, but above all how.
Thank you for your kind interest!
Take care! Stay healthy.

A little bit of luck is always with such shots to catch a good moment. However, I pressed the trigger more than 50 times for this birdie. I ultimately chose this one.

It honors me, at the same time it makes me fall silent.
