The Belum Rainforest is located in the north of the peninsula, extending to the border with Thailand. Two thirds of Malaysia are still covered by tropical rainforests.
Unfortunately, deforestation and monocultures threaten nature. On the way to the Belum Rainforest I crossed extensive oil palm plantations. Huge areas of the rainforest were cut down for them.
