LOL, @cathieg ! You're in Portland, right? I lived in Gresham for 2 years back in 80-82 and I remember some VERY serious Ice Storms that were nothing to laugh at. You have every right to complain whenever you feel the need! :-)

@novab@anazad511@ukandie1 You are all so kind! I've got LOTS to share! I've been "up here" for 8 years now and it continues to be a grand adventure. These are both Polaris snowmobiles (they call them "snow machines" or "snow-go's" up here.) You usually see a "basket sled" being towed behind them - for carrying kids & gear. Same kind the mushers use. If you look closely, you'll see one behind the red snow-go. :-) More later!
We have a good friend who went up to a village outside of Nome several years ago to minister in a tiny church. When her "time" was up for that, she retired and decided to stay..... She moved to another nearby village and stayed. She hasn't been back to southern CA. except for an occasional visit to her kids since then. She absolutely loves it there. We hear from her now and then. We visited her on one of our trips to Alaska She was on vacation in Fairbanks when we were there..
I cannot remember the last time I'd been out for a skiddoo ride....our neighbors have them and were hoping big time that they offer to take us out for a ride.
