Kobuk River

Not a great picture, but this is the view of our back yard. It's pretty sparse right now - willows and birch trees. It's been real overcast and the wind was blowing gusts on this day. I scurried right back inside!
I understand about snapping your photo and getting back inside. I enjoy seeing the beauty of your world.

Looks mighty cold, Joan. Wonderful to have a chance to see your countryside.

@mbemis @cathieg @ukandie1 @cruiser @sheranator Thanks everyone for your comments! Believe it or not, we are still warmer than some places in the Lower '48!

You had the right idea, stay warm and venture out for short periods of time. :)

OMG! That does look so pretty. What town/community do you live in in Arctic Alaska? Just curious.

@aglennc Thanks for the follow, Anita! I appreciate it. I live in the village of Shungnak on the Kobuk River in the Northwest Arctic Borough. I lived in Kotzebue for 5 years and moved "upriver" 3 years ago. Thoroughly enjoying the experience!
