Our district's region is the size of Indiana, with 10 villages. We fly every district employee - cooks, custodians, secretaries, aides, teachers - into Kotz for the annual in-service. 4 long days of trainings, sleeping on classroom floors and eating cafeteria food. Mixed feelings on all of that!
@dide Yes - it was heaven! @cruiser We have a LOT of turnover every year. All of the 9 villages are K-12 schools with mostly combination classes and we had 63 vacancies this year. I don't know how many total teachers we have, but 63 is a big percentage and pretty typical. @dianaanne Thank you, Diane!
@tristansmum Yup. There is only one hotel in the "metropolis" and none in any of the villages. So the schools are an extremely integral part of our communities.
