Look closely and you'll find my camo-student standing next to a tree in the foreground. These tiny trees are probably hundreds of years old, but never grow very tall because of the permafrost just under the surface of the ground. Their stunted growth reminds me of the crazy, gnarly trees in the Dr. Seuss books!
