We were in Anchorage all last week for Spring Break - no snow at all - anywhere. But we took a drive up to Talkeetna, near Denali Park and hit a lovely snowstorm. This little village was still buried in snow.
Places,... I like it when I see images from distant places, read the accompanying texts and good memories of our travels pop up. I have very fond memories of Talkeetna, even though we were there only a short time.
@jetr Oh no,... Denali is much to "big" for me. I'm a high alpine hiker, and it is ok for me if there are little climbing stretches in between. But when climbing I do top-rope things in the rock or indoor. We did a flightseeing over Denali and started in Talkeetna. We traveled Alaska twice in a pick-up truck camper and as you can imagen, we hiked a lot. Very slow travelers are we. For me animals, plants, the landscape, the history and the unobstructed view are so amazing in your country.
