I have never seen a city so devoted to stunning flower displays as Anchorage, AK. Perhaps it's because they have such long, colorless winters. Their flower baskets and boxes and borders are simply wild with color.
@jetr Yes we have been to Anchorage twice 2004/2005. But actually these have been only short stop-overs in the city, because we spent most of our limited holiday in the great outdoors, hiking, hiking and hiking. (Lot of the time also on the roads,...) We rented a pick-up camper in Whitehorse and Kenai was both times our turnaround point. We have wonderful memories.
