A mother's reflection. by jgoldrup

A mother's reflection.

First day of polar bear viewing on the arctic tundra. This female had a 2 year old cub with her, who was also checking out its reflection in the ice.

@pwallis ~ It is the coolest thing to see wildlife looking at their reflection!

@jgoldrup so, you were in the arctic tundra? These guys were in the wild?

@pwallis ~ I was on a 'learning vacation' at Churchill Northern Studies Centre. Lotsa learning, not much vacation...worth it though!

Saw you on FAV FAV and this is totally stunning - I hope it gets to the PP so others get a chance to enjoy its gorgeousness. Love how she looks like she is loving looking at her own reflection. Incredible. A fav, of course.

@semrants Doooo it! Baby steps to the Antarctic! Sometimes your own 'backyard' is not where you think to travel. Hands down best deal on Aeroplan points, if you collect those. One zone, off season!

Hi Janna,
I am doing a task for Coventry Universitys Phonar creative workshop ( http://phonar.covmedia.co.uk/?p=879) the task is to create a magazine spread of 8-10 photos on a theme of your choice of photographers that inspire you. I have decided to use the theme "reflections".

I was hoping that you would allow me to include this photo. No profit is made from the project and I will, of course, give credit to you. The collection of photos will be on Phonars flickr site and I will include what I submit in my extra album so you can see it.

I have decided to ask photographers on here rather than simply use photos I can find through google as I would like the photographers permision.

Thank you,
Emma

@emmar84 ~Hi Emma. I don't have any problem with you using it for what you describe....but can you explain what the image could be used for once it's posted on that site? The creative commons license seems to imply that it can be used/modified freely once posted...? I'm not great at interpreting those CC things, so maybe got it wrong. Can you let me know about that part? Thanks, Janna

love this one too!

@kammy ~ This one is kind of grainy at 4x6, but okay - I have printed it at that size before. Anything bigger wouldn't look so hot. It's only 362kB.

@jgoldrup Oh I'm sure it's brilliant but i wouldn't ask you for two photos!!!! the rainman is the one I go for...
