I am frugal. by jgoldrup

I am frugal.

Photo inspired by my desire to get at least three uses out of this $15 mask; this photo is use #2. I tried out the EOS Utility remote shooting software for this shot. I did not find it super simple, but maybe with a bit more practice it will be. Sorry about the creepy left eye.

Edits: Some lomo and crossprocess in picnik.
Love it! Love the mask! Brilliant!

@laurentye ~ You'll have it too...CD and cable.

@slang ~ Maybe...and that would get me use #3 out of it. But I prefer more creative costumes than a mere cat. ;)

@laurentye Yep, came with 2....one black label and the other white label has the Utility on it, among other things.

Nice mask. :-)

I like how the creepy eye totally changes the mood. It makes it seem like a killing mask. Or maybe I'm just thinking sick thoughts because I just watched an episode of Criminal Minds.

Wonderful capture!!

I don't find the eye creepy. I love the mask and shot. The eye is just fine. I'd keep it if I were you. :-)

What does the software do?! I have to know! Yep, I dig the creepy eye. You look sly, and a tad murderous. Which is cool.

Ola
I think it looks really good!

Very nice colorful and mysterious shot, with a piercing eye. Faved.

@maggie2 ~ Great advice - I will take it!

@idonotsqueak ~ Good call, I thought that too.

@pwallis ~ Lets you control camera settings with your mouse, and the computer screen becomes the viewfinder. I had trouble focussing (you click arrows to focus either way) though. Photos save right to the computer, rather than on the card.

@janmaki ~ Thanks! I tried to included some hand in there for you, but then decided that me licking my hand like a cat looked too sleazy for 365. ;)

Now I'm curious about what use #1 was, or dare I ask that? Excellent close-up and count me in for liking the creepy left eye. Adds a different element to the photo for sure.

@jgoldrup well it wouldn't have been too sleazy for me ...

I usually hate masks - they creep me out... But I love the colour and glitter of this one! Great idea for this series, which - I must say it again - I absolutely love. I'm already thinking what I could shoot as "I am"... must think a bit more on it ;). Oh and thanx for allowing me to steal your idea, I really hope I can actually come up with something ;)

This is awesome!

And to think that just a few days ago, you said "Sounds a bit too tech-savvy for me". You still tackled it and figured out it's confusing focusing process. Nice work!
Now, with a little bit of fear and apprehension, I must also ask... What was use #1?

Dale, this was one of only a few to choose from! And sorry to disappoint you and Lina, but the mask was bought for a work party, masquerade-themed.
