Good one. by jgoldrup

Good one.

I’m posting this because I think it’s funny that I couldn’t manage to lock focus on these large mammals. But also because I think it could have been taken by someone back in the 70s, long before everyone and their dog owned cameras smarter than themselves. Since picnik doesn’t have a 1970s effect, I applied the 1960s one instead. Close enough. Photo was taken on the back loop of the Skyline Trail in Cape Breton Highlands National Park. The trail was literally carpeted with moose pellets, so I was expecting to have at least one sighting.

It does have a retro feel to it! I actually like how it is off focus- it makes this more interesting of a shoot to me

I really like the focus in this and the way you processed it.

So cool! Actual moose - wonderful :)! Great capture and it is very funny that the camera couldn't focus on the obvious - I guess we still have to do the thinking ;)!

I love moose. Therefore, I love this pic. A fav. Would have been a super fav if it had slightly rounded corners, though. ;)

This is still neat without the perfect focus. Great use of the 60s effect too.

@slang ~ Ha! I agree that fully rounded corners would've been suitable...but not *slightly* rounded corners. :P

I like the out of focus, looks like you've been stalked :)

You know, the focus totally suits this shot. I can see why you chose to post it. And you're right, it reminds me of old photos in my album from when we lived up in (gag) PG.

@pwallis ~I'm so sorry you had to live there. I almost don't exist b/c of that place. As the story goes, my grandpa moved the family there, but the kids went wild and started getting into too much trouble, so he moved the family back to NW Ont.
