lol - "end the slavery" - alright, how about they pay their own medical bills next time they crash then. Then they're well and truly free.

slavery? dumbies...you have to protect your noodle! Great find Janna. I like the ripped bits on the pole and your tiny splash of bokeh!

Ridiculous indeed! Helmets make a lot of sense but I guess those brains are not worth protecting... great find!

Yey for head injuries!!

Slavery? Wow! what a stretch!
However, I do like the states that don't have helmet laws (some do, some don't) when I ride my motorcycle even though I still wore a helmet 95% of the time. Sometimes I just want to take a ride in the neighborhood without a lid. And this is coming from a guy that wouldn't be alive today if it wasn't for a helmet...
BTW- cool photo! :)

@onarom ~ Even still...tsk, tsk for that 5%! Isn't it some sort of fact that most accidents occur very close to home (i.e., in the neighbourhood)....?

haha great find... ah the ignorance... and there I am teaching my boys how important it is to wear the helmets even though its a battle every time we go on bikes...

@jgoldrup Helmets have been compulsory here for many, many years. Back when I was in uni I used to work in a bicycle shop and some days the local police would set up a little intercept site near the corner and stop peeps of all ages without helmets. They'd give them the choice of a $30 fine and walk the bike home or go into the bike shop and buy a helmet. We kept a big bin of $25 helmets (couldn't find them cheaper) right near the door and on those days we made a killing ;o)

@brizmako ~Ingenious, both for the cops and for your bike shop!

@jgoldrup LOL! It really used to help out on those slow-trade days ;o)

Ugh. I can't believe there's a movement for this. How sad.
