This is a group called Galumpha performing at the Halifax International Busker Festival. Much of their set consisted of strength and balancing moves, which reminded me of a Cirque du Soleil act at the show I saw in July. And that reminded me that I have no special talents that would allow me to run away with the circus, which is what I would like to do. This made me sad, so I went to the candy store.
I'm currently situated in Victoria, having previously lived in Beijing, Halifax, Chilliwack, Calgary, Vancouver and growing up in Northwestern Ontario. My aim with photography is...
Not all is lost Janna. You could be a pooper scooper, a candy peddler or a side show. ( perhaps you could make that thumb nail work for you?)
Awesome shot! Acts like these are amazing to watch.
@shutterbugger Funny you should say that...I was just today remembering how a steroid I had to take made me grow a bit more facial hair than normal. Not to the point of a circus beard, unfortunately.
Are you good with numbers? I bet circus folk are all self employed and disorganised creative types maybe you could do their books, or manage them? The processing here is amazing, it's one of those moments - - how the heck are they gonna get down?
Great shot! I'm sure you could find a role in the circus, maybe even as their official photographer! :) I hope you found good candy in the store too :)
Your caption made me think there was going to be some horrific sad story to this, but then it made me laugh. I like surprise endings, and this shot and your editing is great. Must fav:)
Awesome shot! Acts like these are amazing to watch.
Cool photo and great caption! :)
great shot, love the selective colour.
@chewyteeth ~ No, not really. And they got down very gracefully.
I cried for years after the Circus Ring Master sent me back home first class on United... felt wrong!
Awesome capture of fit individuals that make me want to eat a quart of Haagen Daz
