I am interested in your backgrounds. Are you creating these to suit each image? This is an area I am working to improve on.

@sjoyce For a lot of the apple pictures, I used the “distressed” app, after Maddy mentioned it, but that has inspired me to do more of my own. The “bubbles” in this one are bokeh bubbles from a deliberately out of focus shot of a stream, layered, blended and masked in Photoshop to prevent it showing on the apples, and to make it fade-out towards the top-right. The “appley birthday” picture needed a gradient fill layer to make the flame show up. Every image is different.
