@marshwader Thanks Maddy. It struck me that I've lived here for many years, but never photographed the buildings - you just stop seeing them! The upper storeys remain characterful and attractive, whereas the ground levels have been ruined by modern shopfronts in so many cases. My original idea was to put them side-by-side as a sort of panorama, but I thought they worked better in this format.
@careymartin Doing this sort of thing makes you notice patterns and rhythms that you might otherwise overlook, and appreciate it afresh. Most of the buildings in this set (apart from the hotel at bottom left) aren't even the ones the town is particularly known for!
@clifford Thanks Cliff. Apart from The Feathers hotel, the other buildings are either adjacent to each other, or very close. Breaking up the images like this, and concentrating on the upper storeys, gives a different perspective on the everyday scene.
