Day 254/365 (26July2024)
Fri-yay, Barcelona edition! What better way to kick off a weekend getaway than with a surprise email about yet another team shakeup? Agile, you sly devil, you certainly know how to keep things interesting (and my stress levels elevated). But hey, as Socrates wisely said, "The secret of change is to focus all of your energy not on fighting the old, but on building the new." So, I channeled my inner Zen master, packed my bags with a healthy dose of optimism, and headed to the airport. No running today, but who needs to pound the pavement when you’re about to explore a new city?
Lesson learned: never book a flight during the Olympics opening ceremony unless you're a fan of extended tarmac lounging. Apparently, even air traffic control gets caught up in the Olympic spirit and decides to take a siesta - French style!
But all was forgiven when we finally took off, and Barcelona greeted us with the most glorious golden sunset I've ever seen. Seriously, it was like Mother Nature herself was showing off her artistic skills with a paintbrush dipped in liquid gold. It was the perfect welcome to this vibrant city, and a reminder that even amidst the chaos of work and travel delays, there's always beauty to be found.
So, adios for now, buddies! I'm off to explore the Gothic Quarter, indulge in some tapas, and maybe even attempt to speak a few words of Catalan (wish me luck!). Stay tuned for more adventures from this side of the pond!
