Grew up being taught he discovered a "New World" Learned that this was not entirely true. Marketing made this person a hero. Even, had a holiday commemorating his supposed accomplishments. Now its no longer a holiday and his distinction has lost its shine. Still, not sure everyone is as bad or angelic as they are portrayed.
