3rd book of 2015! A compelling story about a little-known chapter in American History. The orphan trains transported a reported 200,000 children from the East Coast to the Heartland between 1854-1929. Orphan Train tells the life story of one train rider and parallels it with the story of a rebel Foster Youth. Unlikely friends on the surface but they find that their stories are remarkably similar. The author beautifully joins them together through their similar struggles, hardships and search for family and love in their lives. Wonderful!!
