Have no clue exactly what am i doing, lost my 'phojo'for quiet sometime but can't stop buying stuff. Is this an obsession, addiction or am i just losing my mind?..i love buying new things, like clothes, shoes, watches & dont even used or wear them- is it a therapy to release my boredom, stress, depression, loneliness & anxiety? i love to surround myself with new things but seems they can't complete exactly what i really wanted,i feel so frustrated, lost, feel like having a breakdown ...and i'm damn scared!!!sorry for my ranting, just have to let it out!!;(
---anyways,enjoy your weekend and please be safe!:)
I know what you mean, somehow all the great stuff just don´t make one happy, and yes i have lost the mojo too and don´t really care to compete. You just take the pics for you and try to enjoy beauty of life, that´s what I do. Take some chocolate cookies and some tea, works for me :)
Wishing you well Joey - glad you're just going to do 365 for you. If acquiring 'things' works and it doesn't harm anyone else then go for it - better than drugs or alcohol which others might use for the same purpose.
Sorry that you feel that way! But good for you for putting it into words. Sometimes that is the first step to turn things around. Your photos are quite amazing, mojo or not.
It looks like a cool toy to have. No matter what camera you have in your hand, you always make beautiful art. I wonder sometimes whether we are so busy trying to please others that we forget to please ourselves. Just keep on clicking and let karma find it's way. Take care of yourself Joey.
I think maybe it's a sort of retail therapy coupled with a hope that a new tool will reignite your phojo. Sometimes a new tool does gives us impetus to try something different, and it doesn't even have to be a 'better' tool, in fact I've found that it can be the challenges created by the limits or shortcomings of my equipment that act as inspiration.
Love your narrative and the image. Far better to shoot for yourself, agree completely. I am not materialistic, but if I had more money, I would buy lots of cameras and lenses. Alas, I don't, so I get by with my old Nikon and Sony. My wealthiest client told me "Money doesn't buy happiness.....but it allows you to suffer in tremendous comfort". LOL. FAV.
Your photos are wonderful and give me and lots of others great pleasure. You're quite right to shoot what pleases you that way you take the best pictures. I've just bought a new camera as well and for much the same reasons as you!
Fantastic shot and I hear you!! Sometimes we push ourselves to compete when we don't need to. I like to have people enjoy my photos too and sometimes fuss too much about the finished product. You have a natural talent and just keep taking those fab pics!!
Great shot...I think buying new things especially camera things is fulfilling something within you that you may not be aware of...that might not make sense :).
Praying always helps me get through. There I said it. I have faith in Him (and I had an issue with over purchasing plastic storage containers-Lock and Lock. they keep making new cool stuff. I didn't need it, but I liked it so I would buy it...it became a problem when I had nowhere to put it so it all stayed in the shipping boxes..I'm thinking of making a fake fireplace out of all the boxes this Christmas so I have a place to put the flameless candles I bought and have no place for) Love you Joey "Anyway, rock bottom

I didn't have to read all your comments to know you're loved by so many. your pictures are just amazing. take them for yourself but keep on sharing and you'll feel up again soon.
Joey, your pics are so good. You have a gift. I too lose my phojo from time to time. I think we all do. Love your new toy and looking forward to seeing what magic you produce with it so keep going and keep posting. You have hundreds of fans here!
Neat looking camera and a great shot. I'm sorry you are feeling that way, Joey. Hang in there. I'm sure things will get better. I know life can be so hard sometimes. You are a wonderful photographer and very talented. I always think of the song "The Sun Will Come Out Tomorrow" when I'm having a bad day and it has helped me make it through the day.
Its nice to treat ourselves to something now and again, I'm sure you'll get lots of enjoyment from your new toy ;-). I studied several mental health courses, loved them, very interesting. Buying things releases the feel good chemicals in our brains. Eat more bananas if you can, they support the chemical pathway that releases the feel good and can help towards getting over depression. Don't struggle with it on your own, you have many friends here who will help you. You are welcome to chat to me - send me a message on one of my old photos if I can help.
I love your style, focus and compositions. You have inspired me on a few occasions to try different techniques. Just do it for yourself and we will all enjoy the fruits of your labours as and when you feel inclined to share.
Your pics are amazing. Keep keeping on! Perhaps focus more on a project than a perfect shot. Build up a body of work on a theme and use a range of cameras and lenses. I would love a fuji. I went on a fujiholics photo workshop about a month ago. It was led by two professional photographers who talked about the number of shots they have to take to get that one good one or the number of weeks and months they return to a location until they get the shot they want. Perhaps it is our instant world and the need for instant gratification that leaves us feeling empty and frustrated. Enjoy the hunt for the pic. Look forward to seeing more of your wonderful shots in the future.
