There are thousands and thousands of them in the trees in this park. These guys were in the open but mos of them lower down in amongst the leaves!
Hope you don't live down wind of them they can be very smelly. Whenever we go to Raymond Terrace, the trees in the park there have thousands of bats in them and the smell is awful.
Oh my- I know how beneficial they are and I know they don't want to run into me anymore than I would want to run into them, but if I saw this in one of my trees, I'd be a little unnerved! haha Excellent catch!

Thanks. This species of bat is the most common one in Australia.
They’re sleeping with their wings covering their heads.
Thanks for the much appreciated comments.
