Sydney trams over the last 150 years. Trams were removed at the end of the 1950s - the Sydney Opera House is built on the site of the old tram sheds - but the trams were finally brought back this century.

The two photos of the very old trams were not taken by me!! They were downloaded from the NSW State Archives.

Oh this made me so nostalgic! Just around the corner from our old apartment and we used to have that monorail screaming past whistling at 6am when it started up! Trams are definitely quieter! Super collage of the history here, instant fav

A wonderful progress of the Sydney trams - fav! It seems that in many counties, trams were abandoned and then reintroduced. What a huge waste of resources removing a network and later starting again.
