The bronze is a bit of a give away. But there are many stories over the years of passers by thinking it is a real person. I just read today that the artist is an American called John Seward Johnson who was the grandson of one of the founders of the Johnson and Johnson company in the USA.
@johnfalconer Well that’s interesting. I wonder if John Seward Jonson has any of these here in the US. I guess I can Google that information. Thank you for this extra info.
John Seward Johnson also founded a place called Grounds for Sculpture in New Jersey. I visited there a few years ago, such an amazing place. He died last year. @jb030958

As I recall the artist was born in 1930.
