Useless without batteries.  by johnfalconer

Useless without batteries.

I went to the zoo with a low battery and a dead spare battery. Luckily I have a zoo season pass.
I do like your choice for this shot! A brilliant camera but comes with planning!

Sigh, how frustrating. And how heavy to haul around! But like you said, a season's pass offers new opportunities!

I like it!

@maggiemae @jyokota @kork

The two batteries are fully charged now (after the horse has bolted). Thanks for the much appreciated comments.

@joansmor @gosia

Thanks guys for your sympathy. Especially Joan with the ROLF. Very sad.

Uh Oh. At least you can go back again but hopefully next time armed with fully charged batteries and a spare.

@onewing
They’re now charged up and ready.
January 5th, 2021
Yes, they are useless without a freshly charged battery, and it was a tiny round one for the old film 35mm cameras which worked the light meter. =)

@marlboromaam
I certainly remember those little batteries. And if you didn’t have a battery you just guessed.
January 5th, 2021
@johnfalconer LOL! I also had a hand-held meter that took another little round battery. Take a shade reading, then a light reading and then go for the middle. =)
January 5th, 2021
😀and that’s a hat-trick for today!
January 5th, 2021
yikes
January 5th, 2021
I almost had that happen recently. I noticed on arriving that my battery was low, switched to find my backup dead. I made it through the day being VERY discerning about what I shot, and minimizing the "on" time.
January 5th, 2021
Oh, I've been there. Frustrating. But you have a picture of a dead camera! Lol
January 5th, 2021
So frustrating!
January 5th, 2021
It is reassuring to know that things like that don't just happen to me.

Years ago when I had a film camera, I went to a pond a co-worker told me about. When I arrived there I saw a Heron fishing when the sun broke through the clouds and it was like he was in a spotlight. I started shooting as I inched my way closer towards him. I was so excited and couldn't wait until I could get the film developed. Days later when I passed the number of shots on the film I realized that there wasn't any film in the camera.
January 5th, 2021
Annoying when that happens!
January 5th, 2021
I keep a battery on the charger at all times.
January 5th, 2021
Oh, I hate it when that happens!
January 5th, 2021
At least your iPhone was charged up 😆

ugh frustrating!
January 5th, 2021
@pistache
More than a little bit frustrating after carrying the monster of a camera all the way there.
January 5th, 2021
Hate when that happens. Those things are not light, for sure.
January 6th, 2021
Kat
Oops, that happens :)
January 6th, 2021
why I always have an extra one full charged
January 6th, 2021
@rickster549 @katford @hjbenson
Hi Harry. I did have the extra battery which I though was fully charged!!! Next time I’ll check. Thanks for the much appreciated comments.
January 6th, 2021
So sorry. We all know that we need an extra battery and a spare card, but sometimes it is different.
January 6th, 2021
@haskar
Don’t mention the spare card. My spare cards are in Thailand and I’m stuck in Australia!!!
January 6th, 2021
Whoops! We've all been there unfortunately
January 6th, 2021
@lyndamcg
