I followed this incident up on the club website late at night after the match. Even though the player remains in hospital for the time being he has told supporters that he is “ok but the doctors are doing precautionary CT scans and other tests”.

This was 20 minutes after the accident when everyone knew it was serious. The player in the centre kneeling was alone and one could see he was upset.

Unfortunately he was taken away very carefully by an “intensive care ambulance”. I’m going to check what is happening tomorrow.
