Every year this mother duck has the sense to come back to the courtyard,, in the hospital where I work to hatch her chicks. The hospital porters are a bunch of softies and always take good care of her.
At one of my previous jobs we had a goose make a nest between the bushes beside our building. We joked that the geese knew it was a safe place because of all the nurses who worked there :) The management company blocked off the parking spaces closest to her nest so no one would park too close to the nest.
