This common beaked whale was stranded while naval manoeuvres were carried out off the west coast of Fuertaventura, Canaries in 2004. The local people have also been demonstrating over oil exploration projects off their coast supported by the Spanish Government. The whale’s skeleton lives on, in El Cotillo, as a reminder of our impact on the marine environment.
