@aglennc@cejaanderson It is a streetlamp.
Shot through a medium fisheye, in color but appearing mono. When processing in GIMP I altered the Red Level first, liked this appearance, and decided to leave it that way.
It is actually a rather plain-looking white-light streetlamp in a lonely parking lot.
My photographic opportunities have shrunk up at that location, which is where I find myself with a bit of time on my hands while on break at work.
The location is actually on the precipice of a vast mountain range that is quite pretty, but as I have shot it already, & do not like to repeat myself, I am limited to scrabbling for pix amongst what else is there- which is not a lot. Still have some ideas up my sleeve.
I have to look closer....
I like the design of this, something about it satisfies me. In response to your saying you want to create, not just photograph--this point of view reminds me of my favourite photographer, Canadian Freeman Patterson, who says we should be "making" pictures, not "taking" them.
@tristansmum I will have to check out his work.
In the last year I started painting, sketching & linocut printing; all artistic endeavors that I believe were prompted by a growing need to create that was initially sparked by my first year here on 365.
