Before I retired two years ago, I taught a movie appreciation class, and we watched "The Birds." Tippi Hedron is Melanie Griffith's mother, and her character in "The Birds" is named "Melanie." I've always wondered about that. Now Melanie Griffith's daughter is in "Fifty Shades of Grey." "The Birds" is based on a short story by British author Daphne du Maurier, which is a metaphor for nuclear fallout. Anyone, one can't look at an image like this after seeing "The Birds" and not remember the movie. We also watched "Jaws." I used to ask the high school students which would be worse, die by birds or by shark? They loved topics like that, morbid souls!
I just came from Margaret Obey's photo today and it was much the same! I say the same to you that I said to her...You can't beat a silhouette of birds on bare branches! You do Alfred proud!

The birds were quite forgiving of me. They allowed me to get pretty close, although they knew I was photographing them.
