I mostly only see a resemblance to Diego’s mom in his face (and personality, to be honest), but every so often I catch a glimpse of my own genetic contribution - including the time we saw the first profile ultrasound of him when he was in the womb and both agreed “Yep, that is my nose.” But on this beautiful Spring-transitioning-to-Summer day, I managed to capture a straight on shot of Diego that bears resemblance to a photo my maternal uncle snapped of me when I was around three or so. The lips, nose, eyes and even the whispy back of his hair are a match, and it gives me some pride to know I contributed a little to this positively gorgeous little boy. Also? Check out that lighting! Talk about good timing! Our yard in the late afternoon is one of the most beautiful places I have ever been.
