A Christmas Bokeh

It’s not often I get in near enough proximity to the fidgety, excitable ball of kinetic energy that is Diego to take a proper close-up. In fact, the requirements of being within a foot of him, having plenty of light and having my bleary eyes clear enough to focus properly is, for me, about as complex as what NASA does with one of their remote fly-bys of Kuiper Belt Objects. And yet, here the laws of chance lined up with science and I caught a halfway decent shot with some of the best bokeh of any photo in this entire 365 thanks to the nearby lights on the Christmas tree. It’s pictures like this that make me scoff at my iPhone and recall why it is I never take off my 50mm lens from my Canon.
