This is year ten for me on 365, so it's a bit of a milestone year. I have greatly enjoyed our kind and helpful community, and can't recall a single time I've seen a rude or denigrating post. That is amazing! I estimate that I've taken well over 100,000 photos since joining 365 and beginning my photographic journey. Most of those were purely for practice and have been deleted. The ones I've liked the best and/or learned the most from are posted here. I am a firm believer in learning from your mistakes!
2021 was the most difficult year for me personally as my dear Mom died very unexpectedly this past May. I am thankful that I have this community and photography to play a part in helping me travel through the grieving process, although I can't see as I will ever really be "through" it. My life has changed in fundamental and earth-shattering ways that I am only beginning to realize. I am thankful that some part of my ongoing anguish can be somewhat expressed through my photography and art. In addition, I cling to the truth - and can say with conviction, yet tearfully - "The LORD is righteous in all his ways and kind in all his works." (Psalm 145:17)
Wishing everyone in this community a healthy, safe, and personally enriching year in 2022.
wishing the same to you. I think that is the thing I love most here, besides the exposure to such a huge range of photographic subjects and techniques, is the fact that year after year this place remains the most positive community I've known online or in any physical location. It's my happiest of places and I'm grateful for every person I've met here.
This is a beautiful photograph - I can relate to your thoughts quite easily and have enjoyed watching your photography - how much we've changed through this wonderful site in our ten years. And the idea of photography and 365 friends has certainly helped me through the rough times this year. Wishing the best for you in 2022
