Although this picture might look nice, it does not contain nice memories for me. In fact it was taken in one of the worst weeks of my life.
As I posted few days ago, my 7th grade class trip to England was pretty cool, but in 6th grade we did one too. To the North Sea island of Borkum. And it was horrible. We started with taking a 1.5 hour ferry trip at very high waves, the offshoots of a hurricane over Scotland. I got seasick (that's usual) and got such a high panic that I still avoid boats whenever I can. Then on there, it still was so windy you got sand in your eyes all the time, and cold. The food was ugly and every day we did a boring bike tour with broken borrowed bikes and a strong against wind. I got homesick and cried all the time, but there was no way to get off the island and my classmates weren't very tolerant with my moods. OK, it would've annoyed myself too, but still...
I was so glad when we were home again and these memories still haunt me sometimes but I'm so glad it's over.
Luckily for me I had my camera with me and could kinda use photography as a distraction. Some of the pictures really came off nicely despite my mental state then, like this one :)
Lol I only wanted to give a short description but it went so long I can tag this for Self Stories :D
Oh, I have sympathy for you, well remember my first trip away from my home for a camping week with the scouts/guides. I was so homesick I cried for a couple of days and my family had to travel 120 miles to take me home, I was only 8 at the time and it has had an impact on my life ever since. Lovely capture.
@annika82 Danke :) jo inzwischen gehts aber damals war es echt die Hölle :/ @ladymagpie Oh then I can feel you too, I was 10 and it probably traumatized me :/
Ah, you have my sincerest sympathy for those horrible times, but you've certainly bounced back now! This is a lovely photo and we all go through rough patches, the best thing is though, knowing that things are way better now! :)
You make me feel guilty. I love boats and on April 28 I took my fifth graders on a tall ship in stormy seas and 11 got Very seasick. I remember the date because my granddaughter was born that day. This really is a pretty picture anyway
