We went to the Grand Bazaar early this morning, and were greeted by many eager merchants calling out, "Lady, Lady, we have carpets! Leather, leather, leather, Lady, leather, leather, leather! Best price pashmina! You want gold? silver?" etc. etc. etc. And all around, tea was being hurriedly delivered in swinging, round carriers to each store. As we rounded a corner of this enormous covered bazaar, I came upon this shop with a man leisurely reading his newspaper, but clearly prepared for the day with all his lights turned on. It was one of those moments when you don't have time to compose or fiddle with camera settings or anything -- but somehow, it turned out to be the image I wanted to remember.
Really great candid and the composition is perfect! Brings back good memories of strolling through the Grand Bazaar ;) enjoy Istanbul. Its an amazing city!
Very interesting shot. Love the contrast between all the energy in the merchandise and lanterns, and the calm of the man reading the paper. Thanks for the follow, Junko. Following you back!
Thank you, all! I'm feeling a little "stuck" in my decision about what to post for the next day so I took a look at yesterday's, and found all your nice comments. My first "fav"s . . . special thanks!
