Steckerlfisch

When your German friends invite you to join them for a day outing to a monastery, you can be sure it still includes: hiking, beer, and food.

We hiked from Ammersee (Lake) up to the Andechs Monastery (known for making good beer) and had fresh grilled fish for lunch.
Fantastic capture and perspective. I would LOVE to try them.

They look delicious, and their sleek skins shimmer viewed large.

Are these already cooked?

So this came up in your Flashback today, and I was so intrigued that I clicked through. Is this just how they sell fresh fish? It's fascinating.

@squamloon -- this is a photo taken just as the fish were beginning to be cooked. @lynnb -- not yet!
I wish I had a photo of them already cooked -- somewhere, I must . . . and I will post it when I find it. Thanks for your comments!

That’s a „must“, when you are there. I love to hike up to the monastery but I always go to the small restaurant below, it’s less crowded.
