Front row, third balcony, 13 euro seats to Donizetti's L'Elisir D'Amore / Elixir of Love. The interior of the Munich Operahouse is beautiful, so I entered early to take a few photos before people arrived, but one couple entered the photo just as I fiddled with my camera settings. The pinkness of their scalp cannot be changed without altering the pinkness of the seat cushions . . . which were as pink as seen here . . . I guess, therefore, their scalps must have been, too?
I sent this to Taffy immediately, saying something about "those people who entered my photo of empty seats" but she said she liked them there!
And, always thinking of @Darylo while photographing seats. . . .
This is just fabulous Junko. I have several similar photos in my project and am always drawn to a shot like this. It is wonderful in composition, colour, contrast and repitition of strong curved lines and another fav.
Yay, Mom! (I finally signed up just so that I could comment on this photo.) I love the simultaneous depth and flatness of the photo. It almost feels like an optical illusion, but the people in it ground the photo well and eliminate any potential dizziness for the viewer...which I appreciate at least.
@gabberwocky Welcome to the site Alyssa!! Are you going to start posting?
Junko, I do love this and I think the people really add an interesting dimension. Especially since they are so centered -- you couldn't have asked for better placement. And that bald pink scalp is priceless!
As I have become the quilt-pattern man, you are the opera-seat woman. This is such a fun perspective. The rhythm created with the seats punctuated with the pair of quarter notes is very musical indeed.
