For my Get-Pushed-78 Challenge, partner Tracey H-N @traceyhn said, "I'd like you to incorporate child-like softness in to your photo. Something that makes the viewer go, 'awwwww.'" Michael @vankrey was at my house and he agreed that was a challenge, indeed, as it's not my usual style. But that's what get-pushed is about. So here's attempt #1. I found the most child-like object in my house, a doll hand-made by my neighbor across the street from where my grandmother lived throughout my childhood. I blurred her hair and desaturated a little to try to bring out more softness but the reality is that Japanese hair tends to be black and coarse and the colors of this kimono are quite vivid. Will keep trying.
I like this doll and you are right it's not soft. I like her angles and sharpness. Do you have a pink bunny : ) I'm working on mine and enjoying this challenge because it is totally my opposite. It's funny, something that seems to come so naturally for one, requires a vast amount trying for another.
Thanks for your comments, and for confirming this doesn't meet the challenge. And thanks for your suggestions, although I have no animals, and am allergic to things like kittens and bunnies and pink. Truly, a challenge. Daniel, it would be fun if you would join me in trying to meet this challenge, too! More attempts coming up.
It's an "awww" for me because she brings back a personal memory. However, speaking objectively, she is lovely and quite different from the usual direction such a challenge might take.
@vankrey
Clearly, I need to keep trying to meet this challenge.
Difficult challenge; I might have a go if you don't mind.
