Arrived in Tokyo from Kyoto, and went to Asakusa before Odaiba. This evening view was our goal, and there were many "takes" on this image made by our group members.
In mine, Taffy and Shana liked the sparkling lights on the far left, and the sweeping view of the skyline. Michael suggested removing the green and yellow to unify the image more from the color distractions and make it more subtle. It also makes the red "high building alert" show up in a way that accentuates how many high buildings there are in Tokyo in the distant skyline. You can faintly see Tokyo Tower behind Rainbow Bridge on this one; it's clearer in Taffy's and Michael's. Can't wait to see what others post of this night!
@Taffy -- @vankrey and I worked on this on the train, and he recommended removing the orange/yellow/green as it was distracting so here it is . . . some saturation removed, allowing the red "tall building" alerts to show up more clearly. You can still see the star bursts on the lights on the left if you view large.
@jyokota Looks great!! Does that mean you've arrived? We're at Narita and will board in 30 minutes. Will send you an off-site message. Thanks for a great 10 days together!!
Oh, and of course, this is a great image!! I like how it turned out and think it captures the scene really well. It's interesting to see the contrasts, albeit subtle ones, with the ones Michael and I took.
@jyokota Haha -- saw it in my feed right away! Interesting that you cloned out the gold...Eric thought I should clone it or crop, but Jan thought it emphasized the diagonal and it should stay. I'll hold off doing anything til I get the island. It's helpful to see the three versions of ours.
