Architectural Foundation Boat Tour. Enhanced HDR stacking two photos. More dramatic than I'd typically process or post but stepping out of my usual comfort range.
GREAT one Junko!!! Wasn't it a beautiful day today? Didn't realize you were back -- MariAnne and I were doing our urban hike along the lakefront. Love your wide angle focus and the way you captured the clouds.
@lauramalone82 -- absolutely a MUST for visiting Chicago. When will you be visiting? It would be fun to meet up and do a photo walk! My offline email is junko.yokota@mac.com
@jyokota I must look into it! We should be in Chicago either tomorrow (Tuesday) and Wednesday, or else Wed-Thurs, we are going to check out hotels this afternoon and make our final decision, but Wed is a definite if you were free for an hour or two that day? Don't worry if it doesn't suit, it's ridiculously short notice!
Oh, @lauramalone82 -- I'm so sorry but I'm in Mexico City this week so I will miss you altogether. Please do let me know when you are back in Chicago next time. Meanwhile, check out suggestions made by @Taffy at http://365project.org/discuss/general/23474/chicago In fact, it looks like Christine @k1w1 will be in town the same time! Sure wish I could join both of you for a photo walk! Enjoy our city!
@lauramalone82 When you do the boat tour, make sure you do the architectural one that is offered by the Chicago Architectural Foundation. There are three companies (e.g., Wendell, another one with sightseeing in the title). They all cover essentially the same area but the CAF ones are by far the best, with great guides that volunteer as docents (some are architects for example). It's an outstanding way to see the city. The other useful thing is the trolley tour -- on and off type of bus -- that you can ride throughout the city or get off and different destinations. You can easily cover the same ground using public transportation and that is faster, but you do have to 'think' and plan a bit more. Taxis are pretty reasonable too if time is an issue. Parking is expensive so avoid driving from site to site.
