Upon arriving at our hotel, the friendly guy at the travel desk told us about a spectacular view of the Milky Way after midnight, so we convinced him to drive us into the desert to see it in the wide open sky. SPECTACULAR! We were amazed. We could even see the Southern Cross at the very bottom of the Milky Way. Along the horizon you see the lights from San Pedro, and the Andes mountain range bordering nearby Bolivia. Turns out that the guide is a science teacher, and taught us a lot about the night sky -- but when we got back to our computers and uploaded the photos, it was very clear to us: You can go to see the spectacular night sky, but you can't become an Alexis Birkill photographer just because you've seen it. Taffy posted a particularly well composed version that includes a lone tree in the desert that she lit up with her handy phone. http://365project.org/taffy/365/2014-12-16
Wow it already looks amazing in the shot, can't imagine how it is in real life. But think your right that only Alexis can capture the magnitude of it ;)

Junko, totally fun night and so great to photograph together! I like how yours turned out, with the clear view of the milky way and southern cross, plus the lighting from one of the communities to add interest. What a terrific outing!
Thank You for the follow and I will surely be following you also!!
