It rained buckets, so we decided to head back to Auckland rather than driving the Coromandel Peninsula. But then, the rain lifted so we looked at the map and it said, "Seabird Coast" and "Bird Sanctuary" -- so we stopped. But alas, we should have brought binoculars because it was low tide and we could only hear them.

You've made this look so lovely - such nice soft colours. It's a shame you didn't have nice weather to see the Coromandel at its best. It has some beautiful scenery.
