Yesterday, I posted a photo of the reproductions, so I thought I should show the original ones today. These are from the Qin Dynasty, and are in the funeral pits of the first emperor of China. It was very hard to photograph these originals because hordes of people were packed around them and using flash cameras whereas the reproductions, of course, had fewer.
Being able to see this in person was indescribable, yet with your two images, you convey the magic. I love the way you used their lighting to your advantage, and that you have both images in ways that remove any sense of the crowds around them. Both are stunning!
It's difficult to imaging the awe you must have felt to stand there in their presence! And to think that they were so recently found, the world have not known about them until now!
Great shot. I was there last June but still only taking photographs in automatic. How I wish I could go back now that I am learning more about my camera!
