Black-Capped Chickadee on Set-up

I read that if you take a dead branch and make holes in it and stuff them with birdseed then you will have a more natural bird feeder on which to photograph your birds. I initially put some peanut butter in the hole and then seeds on top but the squirrels thought it was for them!
Nice idea. I may well try that, but fear I'll just end up feeding the crows. Lovely image!

Ha, I made homemade bird food and used peanut butter, Maybe thats why it never got further than the squirrels mouth. I may need to try your great idea! This is definitely a beautiful little bird, nice shot!
