Thank you all for your comments, and your many generous comments on my photos as I try to "catch up" a bit from my long absence from 365. Although I hadn't posted anything since mid-July, I had taken photos along the way so I finally downloaded them from my camera and am gradually processing and posting. My backyard buddies continued to engage me throughout the summer, and it's sad that they come around less frequently with the change of season. I'm always entertained by the stories and communication they seem to express to me. This one, captured a somberness of the balding bird that seemed to show a heart-to-heart talk with the metal bird that always looks the same. @allie912 -- I don't know if this is a seasonal occurrence or even inevitable but when I googled "bald blue jay" many hits came up so I relaxed knowing I needn't worry.
