Before I saw this elk on a photo trip with @taffy and @rosiekerr to visit @jgpittenger I had only one understanding of "elk." And that was at Disneyland's Frontierland show where there were talking heads on the wall, and one was an elk. So you see from this photo, I found that the elk do talk in real life. Or so it seems.
@jgpittenger Perhaps because I don't know what they look like when chewing, I chose the Disneyland explanation. And that from someone who doesn't even like Disneyland.
