@taffy@pattyp and I had been at Magic Hedge for many hours, basically at only two spots not far from the entrance because the warblers were so active. We decided to walk around, in pursuit of an indigo bunting that @pattyp and another photographer had seen "at a puddle." Circled the central section of the hedge, finally found "the puddle" which was indeed a small muddy puddle on the path, when @rakeshkalsi said he had seen warblers and finches playing in the water. So we settled into waiting, sitting on the ground, mumbling about needing pants with knee pads and seat pads built in. We had been ignoring the red-winged blackbirds because they are so numerous, so squawky, and so persistent and we had already photographed them weeks ago. But this female landing shows off the red on her wings which more clearly makes her the female of the red-winged blackbird than we had noted before. A rewarding and fun day!
Thanks you so much for the welcome Junko. I was fortunate to run into you, Taffy and Patty. Its great to be a part of this project. I am learning about the project and I absolutely love your pics. Regarding the puddle, I have a pic of a Tennessee warbler around the puddle. I will try to share it as soon as I can.
