Those plastic tubs and the row of backpacks serves as "lockers" for students to place all their belongings for the day. On the opposite side of the hall are hooks for gym clothes and bags with bento lunch boxes. @vankrey and I photographed some showing the contrasts of those with extremely neatly organized tubs vs those in an overflowing, disorganized state but my photos of those turned out to be less interesting than this one.
Great capture -- so much is shown in this image -- the chaos of kid's stuff. The different culture where locks are not needed. The color, the patterns of the boxes. Great one!
