Wendy @farmreporter, my get-pushed partner this past week, issued the following challenge: "I would like to see a photo with interaction in it - preferably interaction between two people but not necessarily. I would like to see emotion in the shot with the interaction ... laughter, anger, sadness, whatever. Have fun with it!"
Well, I have been a hermit this past week, barely venturing out of my house, and only photographing my backyard. I am very, very nervous as a street photographer. I kept lurking around the corners of the museum, trying to spot interaction with emotion. But at a museum, particularly one of contemporary art, people are reading descriptions, looking a bit confused at the art, and not interacting with people! Here it is, Sunday late afternoon, and the clock is ticking to the end of get-pushed-67 time. We were at the Museum of Contemporary Art and my husband said, "Here -- want me to interact with this?" So Wendy, here it is. My feeble offering for the challenge. You did add the phrase, "not necessarily" for it being two people, and you did ask for emotion and to have fun, so I can assure you it does depict having fun and my husband did his best to show emotion.
Talk about a challenge! Must keep working on this. Wendy, thanks for recognizing that depicting human emotion in interaction is something I need to work on!
I absolutely love the shot, does not matter whether it was natural or planned. The expression is priceless and it is certainly an unusual encounter! Very cool and fun!
Well done! It works for me.
Yes - capturing interaction between people is tough - and it sure opens the eyes to notice people sometimes!
I did submit a series of homemade pictures for my challenge. It was fun!
