Doorway on Trakt Królewski

Once, Polish royalty traveled along the Royal Route to get from the castle to the Old Town. It now extends 11km through the center of the city. Walking up and down this road, I captured this image and pondered what it represented, how long it had been there, why there was one panel that had been replaced, why there was a plastic-sleeve covered sign, sad about the graffiti, but most of all, wondered about the history that had made its way in and out of that door.

Apologies that I haven't posted at all this past month, but thankful that some of you continue to visit my albums and make comments and make me feel part of the community anyway! Saw the theme of the week and decided to use it as an opportunity to make my way back in.
It's is too bad about the graffiti! Such a beautiful door!

Welcome back! Great narrative to capture your feelings while looking at the door. And a really interesting door for the theme.

The carved figures are so interesting, and I like the graffiti.

Past and present. If the graffiti represents the present, that's a shame! But you took a photo of it, so we are still able to see it's beauty
