Is anyone noticing the destruction?

I'm trying to depict the story of beautiful, old cobblestones being removed by a (Japanese, no less) machine, against the backdrop of the beautiful city square. It's sadly replaced by thoroughly modern straight-and-easy-to-walk-on but characterless new stones. What struck me here is that suddenly, a bubble appeared, which seemed to add to that sense of people carrying on and playing and not noticing this horrible thing happening. I've intentionally shot through the fence to say, "off limits" and at nighttime to add to the effect. I'll post a daytime one showing the workers.
Powerful image to tell the story. And the rich tones are a great contrast to the scene that's taking place.

Very strong image!! How sad that they should do this. Beautiful golden tones - love that bubble - it is so out of place in this scene!! Fav!

Ow no, don't like that they are removing the cobble stones! they really add to the old character of the city!

Love the capture but it's depressing. Is there going to be no uniqueness left in our world? Said from a cobblestone lover who thinks they are art.

Great capture of the sad destruction of the cobblestones.
